Note: If you haven’t read yet my full Iloilo blog, make sure to drop by after reading this. Our expenses and other information that could help you is written there. Click here.

Garin Farm is located in the town of San Joaquin. It is around 2 to 3 hours drive from Iloilo City depending on the type of transportation that you will have. Based on the blogs that I’ve read, most bloggers wrote that it’s just a 1 and half drive away from the city. I suggest to ride a van or hire private transportation in going there for a more convenient trip. We rode a jeepney, and it was one of a hell ride. We left SM City Iloilo at 12:00 PM and we arrived at around 2:30 PM.

ENTRANCE FEE: PHP150.00 per person excluding children 1-year-old. Discount for senior citizen upon presenting a card.

A smell of a chicken, goats, rabbits and other animals will welcome you as you enter the gates. From there you will have to walk through the hanging garden up to the Pavilion.

For those who can’t go on a long walk, you can take a ride in the Golf Cart  (3 pax/ride):
Entrance to Pavilion: PHP60.00
Pavilion to Cross: PHP90.00
Pavillion to the Gate Entrance: 60.00

A sizeable artificial lagoon will welcome you upon reaching the Pavilion. From there you can avail their other activities such as kayaking, fishing, zip lines, and horseback riding.

Pilgrimage: A journey from Creation to Ascension is the most famous spot in the area.

You will need to take a stair to witness what’s behind the mystery of the Pilgrimage. During that time, the clouds were already turning grey as if God is giving us a sign that the rain is going to pour down anytime soon. We rushed going to the top and immediately climb the stairs towards the Divine Mercy Cross in just 10 minutes. Good thing we manage to be inside the tunnel before the rain poured down.

Along the way, you will pass by the human-sized figures that depict Garden of Eden, Noah’s Ark and the nine major events taken from the Bible. You can rest from time to time as you take pictures and learn from the life of Jesus.

The meditation tunnel will lead you to the most popular spot in the area. Inside the tunnel is a blue led lights place at the sides of the walkway. Its purpose is to remind us to have faith in Him despite our troubled earthly lives. The pathway symbolizes us that there’s a light at the end of every hardship. Before you reach the end of the tunnel, you will find a symbol of the Holy Spirit. We decided to rest here first as we wait for the rain to stop.

As soon as it stopped, we head straight back to our journey. White light has slowly approached us as if it is welcoming us to the gates of heaven. And Lo! Behold! It was one of the most beautiful sight my eyes have witnessed!

God has indeed answered my prayer when I asked him to make the rain stop.  As you can see from the picture, the clouds were just slowly recovering at that time. True enough that God’s creation will always be beautiful no matter what weather it is!

View from the top after raining hard!
