With so many beaches to choose from in Batangas, San Juan has always been our go-to place for the past three years already. We never made reservation because my dad loves making last minute plans. As a result, all of the hotels were fully booked already. We end up going to the least famous resort, which I think is a good thing. Less crowd, less noise and a higher chance for relaxation.

Buracai de Laiya was able to accommodate us for the second time already. Going to the same place twice doesn’t give the same excitement as the first time, but Buracai de Laiya will. Coming from the name itself, does it really give a Boracay vibes?

———– THE RESORT ———–

Buracai De Laiya Beach Resort is located in Brngy. Hugom, San Juan Batangas. Going to the resort might be a little scary especially for the first-timers. Driving there would give you the ambiance of Sand Dunes in Pagudpud, Ilocos. Roads are rocky and not fully cemented. If you don’t have a guide with you, the chances of getting lost are high.

Upon arriving, the staffs were very accommodating and friendly. Crowds from our second visit were outnumbered compared to the first time we went because we went last year on a holy week. I guess Buracai de Laiya is slowly building their name already. If you are looking for a place to escape from the noisy and polluted city life, you may want to consider taking a day tour or overnight here!

The place isn’t big enough to accompany a large number of crowds compared to other beach resorts, but it’s enough to satisfy your quick getaway vacation.

“Buracai” came from the surnames of the original owners Burabod and Cay. Don’t be deceived that it will give a Boracay vibes because it won’t. It doesn’t offer white sand, but instead a rocky beach full of pebbles. Might as well try their other activities such as snorkeling, banana boat, and volleyball because swimming in the beach might give you a little discomfort.

What makes the resort special is the two large infinity pool and the ambiance that it gives.

This place is where I spend half of my time swimming. It isn’t big unlike the other pool but there is enough shade to cover you from the scourging heat of the sun.

Every corner of the resort is an opportunity to take your insta-worthy picture!

As for the food, it was served on time and it was worth the price we paid. You could choose between Set A: Fish Fillet with Pancit or Set B: Chicken with Chopsuey. Both have an iced tea or mango juice inclusion.

They also offer various choices of meals for a low price at their restaurant. Since food is already included in the entrance fee, lutong bahay is not allowed. You need to pay a corkage fee of 100php/kilo of any meet and 300php/ for a case of beer. Chips, biscuit, and bottled waters are of free charge.

Parking facilities were minimal. Only four cars can park outside the resort. The rest can overpark or park on the road.
